News Team Henselite Chloe Stewart Wins Australian Singles
December 19, 2019

As the sun set on 2019, Queensland's Chloe Stewart became the last member of Team Henselite to hold aloft the Australian Singles Champion trophy. Chloe overcame NSW's Genevieve Delves in the final at the Sapphire Club in Merimbula.

"It's all a bit surreal, to be honest,” said Chloe. ‘’The competition was only one day so it all happened so fast!"

“I think all players I competed against were tough as they all won their respective state singles. But I guess coming up against Kylie Whitehead in the first round was a bit tough and it came down to the wire with only 1 shot between us.”

“I didn’t get off to the greatest start in the final and Gen did come out of the blocks early. But once I found some rhythm and changed the length I settled into the game and just focused on each bowl and not the end result. I am lucky enough to have a huge support crew who were closely following my results. I know my Mum, Nan and two brothers were watching the final through the live stream along with some other close friends.”

As usual, Chloe was using her Henselite Dreamline XGs throughout the Championships, “My Dreamline XGs are always great for any surface I compete on. I can always trust the line no matter what the conditions are.”

The Australian Singles title caps off what has been a huge year for Chloe, with so many achievements that it was hard for her to pick a single highlight. ”I can say the some of my highlights have been winning the Australian Singles and Triples, making my debut in the Bowls Premier League and to winning the BPL was unbelievable with good mates Kurt Brown and Aaron Teys.”

Chloe puts her recent run of success down to a change in outlook. “I think my outlook on each game has changed over the last couple of years, instead of being worried about the outcome I just try to enjoy each and every time I step out on the green.”
