News Team Henselite Dawn Hayman takes Australian Champion of Champions Title
October 22, 2019

Australian Jackaroo, Dawn Hayman, has become the latest Team Henselite bowler to top the podium at the Australian Champion of Champions, following in the footsteps of Kylie Whitehead who took out the 2018 title.

Representing her home state of NSW, Dawn had already sewn up the title with a round to spare, despite losing her final match against NT’s Colleen Orr.

"Its super exciting for me to have won it," said Dawn after the event. "I'm over the moon. This win tops my achievements thus far. It's special because I have won it by myself. I had my partner Thomas over there with me and 2 of my friends supporting me but also had a lot of support back home from family and friends."

Despite going into Round 7 undeafeated, Dawn fought hard throughout to maintain her advantage. "There were no easy games. All my opponents were tough. It was a quality field," she said.

To ensure she was prepared, Dawn concentrated on her singles game in the weeks going in. "I had practiced some singles match play in the lead up to the event and played in plenty of tournaments."

"My Dreamline XGs were great on the greens over in Perth, even when it was slighty windy they held up really well."

The young Jackaroo has plenty to look forward to. Dawn's win means she will now represent Australia at the 2020 World Singles Champion of Champions in Adelaide, SA. "I also debut for Australia at the Multi Nations and then play in the development team for Trans Tasman series in November."
